Funky Zombie Action' Game Stupid Never Dies Clinches Release Date and Big-Name

A number of exciting announcements are in store for action game junkies looking for their next fix. Stupid Never Dies, the upcoming debut title by GPTRACK50, a studio headed by Capcom veterans, just got a release date, a new publisher, and more.

Today, GPTRACK50 President Hiroyuki Kobayashi announced the studio's partnership with the Japanese publisher SEGA, known for games such as Sonic the Hedgehog and Like A Dragon. In a press release, Kobayashi-san says:

"Stupid Never Dies is an ambitious action game that introduces a number of original gameplay systems, and working with a publisher as experienced as SEGA has been invaluable. Together, our team remains committed to delivering a game that we believe players around the world will enjoy."

In addition to this partnership, we finally get a look at the official release date for Stupid Never Dies. Just in time for Halloween, players can enjoy this "Funky Zombie Action" game on October 21, 2026. It launches on Steam and PlayStation 5 for $49.99, or you can get the Stupid Never Dies: Glorious Idiot Edition for $59.99.

Today's announcement includes the contents of the special edition, which includes its first DLC pack. The DLC, called TickTock Teddies: Nonsense Overload Pack, will add wacky modifiers like the "Big Head Effect" and remixes different tracks from the game.

Speaking of music, Stupid Never Dies has an opening and ending theme, which will both be available on Spotify on August 4. The opening theme, which debuted with Stupid Never Dies' announcement during The Game Awards last year, now receives its full version. 

The opening theme captures the game's pop-punk theme. Pop-punk is a hallmark of Stupid Never Dies, as we learned from an in-person interview last month with the team of GPTRACK50. Meanwhile, a brand new, never-before-heard ending theme will also release on Spotify. 

I was very encouraged by my hands-on session with Stupid Never Dies last month. I described it as "a dazzling display of color and chaos," and gameplay elements are definitely pure, hack-and-slash action, like Devil May Cry and Bayonetta. October is a stacked month for games, but you should definitely keep an eye on this game.
